How Mama Mia The Most Successful Hollywood Film Musical Of All Time Has Changed Our Lives

The above title seems a rather dramatic statement for, after all, what is basically a musical and indeed a comedy particularly when listening to Pierce Brosnan try to reach the musical notes of songs such as "The Winner Takes It All". Anyway, as this is a fashion blog, I'm not about to try and write a review of the film, but I just know that it made me laugh, smile and cry all at the same time. Also, I have a few male friends that also like it just as much - although in public I am sure they would totally deny this fact.

We recently decided that it would be great fun to organise an ABBA Mama Mia party over the festive season - with fancy dress compulsory of course. I started investigating on the web to see what outfits are available and it's quite a scary fact that many ABBA outfits are out of stock in the fancy dress world. Hence, my title to this entry. Are we all now so influenced by ABBA and the Mama Mia phenomenon that we want to parade around in platform boots, body hugging shiny jumpsuits or flared trouser suits?

If like me, your answer is yes, then I can only recommend that you start hunting for those outfits and wigs now - unless, of course, you are lucky enough to be like a friend of ours who claims to have a 30 year old pair or original white flares from the '70s still in his wardrobe!
